Top Gear USA ratings

Of course I watched it. Are you kidding me? And of course I knew it wouldn’t be as good as the UK version. Not only are the personalities different, the UK version has had what like 15 seasons to figure it out.

For what it’s worth, I have heard Top Gear USA is supposed to get better after the first 3 episodes.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand. The ratings are in…

Total viewers – 1.9 million

Age 18-49 – 1.1 million

Age 25-54 – 1.1 million

And men made up about 70% of the viewers.

To give you an idea of where that put’s it Continue reading

PDI Dyno Day

So back to the Vroom…

PDI aka Performance Diesel Inc., for whom I have done some contract design work, is having a customer appreciation dyno day December 4th. I hear they are expecting some trucks putting out huge numbers. They just got a new chassis dyno installed. It sounds like quite a beast. I know last night Continue reading

Amazing CG Work

One of my favorite geek blogs, Geekologie, posted some info about this guy. After looking through his Vimeo page, I found it just too good not to share.  All of his work is computer graphics. Nothing real. But of course, it all looks incredibly real. That is after all why I found the need to post it here.

Here is a short film featuring Louis Kahn’s Phillips Exeter Academy Library. Again, all CG…

And here is the making of that short film. I am in awe…

This isn’t even necessarily his best work. But I like having the how it’s done video to go with it. You can see all of Alex Roman’s vimeo page here.

Fallout: New Vegas DLC coming December 21

Today, Bethesda announced the first official DLC for Fallout: New Vegas. It is called “Dead Money” and will be available exclusively for XBox 360 users on December 21st.

Bethesda offers up this description:

As the victim of a raw deal you must work alongside three other captured wastelanders to recover the legendary treasure of the Sierra Madre Casino. In Dead Money, your life hangs in the balance as you face new terrain, foes, and choices. It is up to you how you play your cards in the quest to survive.

Not a lot of info in there. But it does sound like they expended the world a bit. That’s always a welcome thing. And since I have the XBox 360 version, I am happy it is only for us… Now I just wish I had that newer bigger HD, instead of the dinky 10GB one from my old machine.

BTW, I am about 1/3 of the way through my 2nd playthrough. Went melee this time and I am LOVING it. It’s amzing how nice it feels to rip something’s head off in one punch.
